The Occupational Health and Safety Authority Act is set to formally introduce the principle of protection of health and safety at the workplace into Maltese labour law, making it of great importance for employers and employees alike.

Consolidating the Conditions of Employment (Regulation) Act 1952 and the Industrial Relations Act 1976, the draft Employment and Industrial Relations Act 2002 is set to bring Maltese Labour Law in line with European Legislation.
